Using ADEL, I am trying to find the optimum load impedance for a power amplifier with HB and a port adapter. I use two methods:
1. Loadpull simulation:
I select a Loadpull simulation option in HB, and I get a certain value for Gamma_opt(mag, ang) of the load for a maximum output power. To verify the result, I run a single point simulation using the same Gamma_opt but I get a different for the output power.
2. Variable sweep
I select a Sweep simulation option in HB using the same variables (mag,ang), and I get a different value for Gamma_opt for a maximum output power. To verify, I run a single point simulation using the same Gamma_opt, and I get the correct result.
It seems to me that loadpull and sweep produce different Gamma_opt and the maximum output power, where the latter looks like the correct one.
Is this a known issue in the loadpull analysis?
Is there anyway of plotting loadpull contours from HB analysis with swept variables?
